TYKS carries out extensive research work in health sciences. At the moment, the hospital is running over three hundred research projects with a budget totalling 11 million euro.
Approximately one third of the research projects are related to the development of new drugs and two thirds to, for example, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation. The research work is supervised by the Ethical Committee of the hospital.
Turku CRC offers support and services for investigator initiated clinical studies. Its services are available to investigators at the University of Turku and in the Hospital District of Southwest Finland. In addition, Turku CRC works to enhance research collaboration with companies in the field. Read more from Turku CRC's own website.
