Our ward is responsible for the autologous stem cell transplantations of children as a part of the stem cell transplantation unit of Tyks. You need a doctor's referral to be admitted. Our ward works as an emergency ward as well. Oncological patients treated in our ward with acute problems are admitted directly to the inpatient ward. New patients are admitted via the joint emergency of the clinic. You can visit a physiotherapist, dietician, psychiatric nurse, psychiatrist, hospital chaplain or a teacher during your inpatient stay. We are a part of the Tyks Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Client fees A clinic fee is collected from your visit, and a daily inpatient fee is collected from inpatient ward treatment. See client fees. Visiting There are open visiting hours. There is a possibility for one of the parents to stay overnight in our ward. Parents and other family members can stay at the Meri-Karina activity and service centre for free. Staying in some hotels is also possible, but you must pay the sum that exceeds the Kela allowance yourself. Facilities The ward, day hospital, outpatient clinics and the Step outpatient clinic are all located in the same space. There are 9 patient places in the ward and 6 in the ward's day hospital. Personal belongings are kept in patient rooms. There is a play/coffee room for patients and adults. There is a kitchen especially for the patients in the ward. TVs and games consoles can be found in patient rooms, and the ward has laptops and many other activities for the patients and their parents. It is allowed to use your own telephone or tablet. More information Our ward is regularly visited by hospital clowns and crafting instructors. We co-operate with various research and activity parties. In 2013 we received the Respect award from FC Inter and Veikkausliiga for distinguished and important work.
