We perform isotope examinations, for example, of bones, the heart, blood circulation and breathing, the urinary tract and the lymphatic system.

A very small amount of radiopharmaceutical substance is administered usually in the antecubital vein and its accumulation in the target organ is photographed with a gamma camera.

The sensitivity of isotope examination benefits the study. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and its combination with a CT scan can be used selectively to enhance the accuracy of the diagnostics of the study.

We also perform isotope treatment based on the assessment of specialist physicians of internal medicine or oncology. These treatments and all examinations require a doctor's referral.

We are part of the Tyks Division of Medical Imaging. We offer our services to the wards of Tyks and other hospitals of the Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland.

Since 2003, Nuclear Medicine Unit has been an accredited testing laboratory T150 by the FINAS accreditation service, accreditation requirement SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
