Laboratory samples collected at home

You may collect samples of urine, feces, saliva and sputum at home into collection vessels that you have received from the laboratory.

Laboratory samples collected at home require always a referral for sampling from your health care unit.

Most urine, feces, saliva and sputum samples can be collected at home. For sampling at home, you must use the collection vessel that you have received from the laboratory or your health care unit. Collection vessels and instructions for sampling at home are available during office hours at the Tyks Laboratory sampling units.

You are asked to return the samples collected at home to a Tyks Laboratory sampling unit. You do not need to book a time if you only pick up or return sampling vessels. If you otherwise have a time booked for sampling, you may return any samples your have collected at home at that time.

Instructions for sampling at home are available on the web page care instructions.
