Cancer is a general term for a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division and growth. Cancers may be grouped by their location and growth pattern. Cancer in children differs from those in adults because of their biological background is often different. This also explains why there are clear differences in the occurrence of cancers in children and adults.

You will need a referral from a physician for treatment at the Tyks university hospital. In the case of cancer, treatment is always started urgently, and referrals are processed without delay. The Cancer Centre monitors the execution of cancer treatments by following the time from arrival of the referral to the very first treatment contact.
