The purpose of intensified open care is to provide psychiatric specialist care primarily within the context of open care. The unit provides advanced home care as an alternative to psychiatric ward care. Visits to the home of the patient are also made in the evenings at weekends.

Our patients are usually over 70 years of age.

Patients are admitted to us by referral from a physician.

The most common reasons for ward care are:

  • severe depression or anxiety
  • bipolar illness
  • psychosis, e.g., delusional conditions
  • severe psychiatric symptoms associated with memory disorders
  • alcohol and drug addiction problems of geropsychiatric patients.
