Tyks Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic

We treat patients with diseases of the musculoskeletal system (shoulder, elbow, hand, spine, hip, knee, ankle, instep), patients with joint prostheses and patients with diseases in the field of rheumatism surgery.  

Patients are admitted to us by referral from a physician.

Our specialists assess the urgency of your needs based on the information in  the referral and examination results (e.g., imaging studies like x-ray images). Occasionally, additional examinations are needed before the final treatment plan can be settled.  You will get a time for your appointment and detailed instructions once the specialist has made his/her assessment.

At the appointment we will make a joint decision on the best treatment for you. The decision may be to treat your condition with surgery, physiotherapy or ergotherapy or with a combination of these. Our outpatient clinic is also responsible for controlling your condition after treatment.

If the decision is to perform an operation, the personnel will review the details of the operation together with you,  you will get precise instructions on how to best prepare yourself for the operation.

If the decision is to treat your condition without surgery, the personnel arranges, if needed, an appointment with a physiotherapist or ergotherapist who will start your rehabilitation. The physio- and ergotherapist will evaluate your mobility and functional capacity and provide you accordingly with the therapy, guidance and advice needed.
